Luke Kornet is a three-time member of the SEC Academic Honor Roll, a two-time member of the CoSida All-District team and was named to the NABC Honors Court in 2016.
Character
Kornet was is the team captain for two consecutive seasons (junior and senior) and is always the first player to volunteer for community service projects.
Community
Kornet is a member of the Student Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC) and helped organize the department’s annual Christmas party for elementary schools around Nashville. He also volunteers at the Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital and the Stallworth Rehabilitation Hospital on the Vanderbilt campus.
Competition
Kornet was named to the All-SEC Defensive Team in 2016 while averaging 3.0 blocks per game, which led the SEC and was fourth nationally. He also averaged 8.9 points and 7.3 rebounds per game as a junior. He notched the program’s second triple double with 11 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 blocks vs. Auburn last season. It was the program’s first triple-double with blocks, and he currently sits fifth in program history in career blocks per game and fourth in total blocks.
